NO BIRTH CERTIFICATE, NO SCHOOL!!....WAT IS THE??
It was really heartbreaking to see the picture in "No birth cert, no school" (The Star, April 12) on the plight of the 8 childrens without birth cert. These poor childrens & others like them all over M'sia face avery blek future. Something concrete must be done to help such children. There are cases where even their parent don't have a birth cert this poor children are not allowed to get the education. Our Government must settle this problem in holistic manner. it cannot be done on an ad hoc basis. Some people will see this picture as just children with the birth cert problem. What I see are children with potential to become someone..maybe Doctors,lawyers,educators or even someone who will find the cure to cancer..WHO KNOWS!!. All they need is an education to unlock their potential. We should not deprive them of this because of a mistake their parents made...
